Board Cutting & Edging for Stamford

Precision-cut panels for England’s finest stone town – delivered from our Fengate workshop, around half an hour away.

Cut, edged and delivered to Stamford

Stamford was the first town in England to be designated a conservation area, back in 1967, and it has more than 600 listed buildings. That shapes the joinery work done here: very little is standard. Alcoves in Georgian townhouses are rarely square, stone cottage walls bow, and planning rules mean the work happens inside – fitted wardrobes, bookcases, window seats and kitchens built to the exact shape of the room.

That is where a cut-to-size service earns its keep. Send us a cutting list and we cut every panel to your measurements, edge the visible faces with PUR-glued edging and drill for hinges and shelf pins, so your panels arrive ready to assemble rather than ready to start work on.

Stamford at a glance

Made-to-measure panels for period homes

Bespoke fitted furniture is the usual answer in a listed building, and it is far quicker to build when the carcasses arrive already cut and edged. Most Stamford work we see falls into three groups:

  • Alcove units and bookcases – carcasses and shelves cut to the individual alcove, with shelf-pin holes drilled on our CNC so the shelves line up perfectly.
  • Painted cabinetry – moisture-resistant MDF from 3mm to 50mm, cut and ready for a hand-painted finish that suits a period interior.
  • Kitchens in stone cottages – MFC carcasses in white or a matching decor, with ABS edging applied by our PUR edgebander for a tight, moisture-resistant joint.

Planning is also reshaping the north of the town, with Stamford North proposed on land off Casterton Road. New homes mean new kitchens and wardrobes, and we cut carcass panels in volume for fitters working on new-build sites.

Boards cut to size

Every sheet trimmed on all four sides for a true edge, then cut to your list. Ideal for out-of-square alcoves.

PUR edgebanding

Moisture-resistant PUR glue and laser edging with no visible joint line – a clean finish for painted or decor panels.

CNC drilling & routing

Hinge boring, shelf-pin holes, grooves and shaped parts from your sketch, .dwg or .dxf file.

Why Stamford trades order from Peterborough

We’re close enough to deliver with our own vans and far enough from a city centre to make loading easy – our showroom on Second Drove, Fengate is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, so you can see the Egger, Kronospan and Alvic decors in person before you commit. Many Stamford joiners send a cutting list in the morning and collect or take delivery within the week.

If you’re working on a listed property and need something unusual – a curved window seat, an angled panel to meet a sloping ceiling or a scribed shelf – send us a drawing or a photo of a hand sketch and our CNC team will turn it into machine-ready parts.
