What’s in the template
- Columns for everything we need – part name, quantity, length, width, thickness, board or decor code, grain direction, edging on each edge and drilling notes.
- Drop-down choices in the Excel version for grain (Y/N) and edging (0.4mm, 0.8mm, 1mm, 2mm or none).
- Automatic totals for the number of parts and the board area in square metres.
- Two worked examples – a side panel and a door – so you can see how to fill it in.
How to fill it in
- One row per part size. Four identical shelves are one row with a quantity of 4.
- Length first, then width, in millimetres. On woodgrain decors the length runs along the grain.
- Mark the edges to band. L1 and L2 are the long edges, W1 and W2 the short edges. Our edging thickness guide helps you choose.
- Add drilling and machining notes, or attach a DXF or DWG drawing when you send it.
